Three Months Without Razor

or the scratch

calling from behind

without kiss of water to skin

without the graze of a finger

or palm to cradle a smile

but love—at times—

like winter

ends abruptly

and with a blade

the pores shocked

and opening

their wide mouths

once again—

without arrest—

dancing with the sun
