Mary Ozanic

Mary P. Ozanic spent the bulk of her professional career in the marketing and production of entertainment events and professional sporting events in arenas and stadiums around the United States She received a CLIO Award for the Best U.S. Radio Commercial for an Entertainment Event for her work with the Kentucky Derby. At the age of 58, Mary graduated Magna cum Ladue with her Bachelor’s in Communication and a minor in Sociology from the University of Colorado-Denver in 2016 and is now a graduate student at UCD in the Social Sciences Department on the Community Health Administration track. Her research interests are concentrated in the addiction field with specific focus on the impacts of music, art, food and nutrition on both early stages of recovery and in relapse prevention. Mary has presented her findings at numerous academic symposiums and addiction-related conferences. She authored "Kolache Philosophy" in Biscohitos for Mis Jitos and Other Tummy Tales, JEMS Books in 2018 and also facilitates recovery workshops at Denver-area addiction treatment centers. As an active member of both Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous, Ozanic strives to bring a message of hope and healing to those still struggling with chemical dependency.
